Some of you are wondering or were wondering what was wrong with the car

So the short answer is that the linkage between the Gearstick and the Gear box has snapped...this means that the car will go into gear...but not out of gear....This due to the specifity of the part and its location is going to cost £200 to fix...bugger....

So far this month I have spent on the car

£70 - New Battery
£430 - Service (New Exhaust, Brake Disks, Pads)
£200 - Repair Gears
___________________
£700 - TOTAL

Man these things are far too expensive.....

Would they not just cost just as much to keep and maintain....

I feel your pain man! The last two times I had to pass MOT it cost 700-800 pounds each time cause so much stuff had to be fixed. Not to mention the time I needed a new radiator (big hole in it!), or the time some kind of air intake control valve / control unit broke (causing it to instantly stall when idling).

Still, they are convenient...

Eew. D: I was thinking earlier than £200 (after conversion into real money, of course xP) was not that bad for something that actually makes your car not run. But now I can see why you're frustrated--£700 in one month is way too friggin much. Hopefully nothing else important will break any time soon.

Cars are lame. In June or so I will have to pass emissions again and my check engine light has been going on and off for months now. I predict at least $600 worth of repairs and we have no money. Ugh. Cars.

Yeah it was mostly being annoyed that this had happened 2 weeks after a full service and things and being stranded 200 miles from home is not pleasant....
